By Damien Knight
I loved her, Mars, a toxin in my veins
My princess a fine wine, I undeserving
The manifestations of dreams I claim
I the knight her shadow king
I thought myself no one long ago
And Lady Mars held my sway
I never thought I’d be loved so
That I’d be someone’s night and day
I won’t settle for worthlessness
With being nothing and ok with it
I’ll be with her in eternal bliss
The darkest night, the match of love lit
