Nyanpire- Fan Art

As my daughter stated easily : “OMG! This is too cute! I have to look away! It’s too cute for me!”
And since this is my adorable daughter:

My Super Cute Daughter!

You know that if it’s too cute for this little girl it’s got to be cute. Nyanpire is an anime about a Vampire Cat. When I did the piece I had yet to see the anime, but heck why not, it had all the things I loved, cats, Vampires, and strawberries.

SKETCH!

Like all my pieces I started by painting a pink background. I then sketched and outlined the black areas. NYAN!

COLOUR!

Oh look at him so happy right? I painted Nyanpire kitty filling his fur with a grey color.

And Finished!

I painted in the details and the result, a kitty so cute I could melt. Hope you all like.

Jack Skellington -Fan Art

By Damien Knight

After going to Otakon and volunteering for their Art show I was encouraged to try doing fan art. I did various pieces back in 2013 of different fan art. This of Jack is one of my favourites.

The Wraith

By: Damien Knight

I felt a desire to do a macabre style art and this wraith was the result. Skulls have detail that make them a bit more difficult to draw than I initially expected but the result was worth it. I really like the flow of hair too. Hope y’all like it.

Medusa 2010

My first piece of Cartoon style art was this painting. I did this piece back in 2010. It took me a while to realize I needed to paint the background first. Because I did not paint a background first there is a lot of white gaps on this painting. This is acrylic on paint-board.

Born Beautiful

By Damien Knight

I started the piece with a sketch.  It’s hard to see here but the lines were all very basic. I wanted the image to be just that simple, basic. I decided to do this piece after my son was asking about childbirth.

Sketch

After the Sketch I began painting. I choose simple colours.

Born Beautiful

After painting this piece which is Acrylic on canvas I thought about how we feel during pregnancy. Every child we say we don’t care the gender we will love them either way and so I purposely made this child genderless. Every child is Born Beautiful.

My Art Process

By Damien Knight

Today  I posted “Portrait of a Woman” a painting I did of a young woman who is dear to my heart. Like all my paintings these days this one was a process. First I took a photo she had and sketched this out like this:

First Sketch

Once I was done sketching I added colour using oil pastel:

Colour

Finished colouring important areas on my sketch:

Almost looks better than the painting

I then redrew the sketch onto canvas and painted for the final product. Several of my paintings have been done sketch first.
