Some Christmases stick out in memory better than others. Maybe they stand out because of the gifts or perhaps just because of things that happen that year. For me it was Christmas in Germany that I can never forget. It was there that we as a family we started so many traditions. I was about 10 or 11.
That December we had all asked for pets for Christmas. I had sent Saint Nick a letter myself asking for a cat. That night my sisters and I plotted to stay up and catch Saint Nick and make sure we go our pets. I never caught Santa in the act because next I remember was my mom calling for us.
I stumbled out bleary-eyed in pink pajamas. My long blonde hair a ratted mess. I could hear mom yelling at the dog.
“No! Bad Ralph!”

I like to go to zoos and where I live there is a zoo nearby. This zoo has a garden, a kids water playground, and a new sea lion exhibit. The sea lion can be seen up close and personal. The Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina is a very nice local zoo, and has a little for everybody. The zoo is separated into two parts. One side is the Garden area the other the zoo area. I like to recommend the new sea lion exhibit as a must during the summer months. The seal enclosure is a nice place to cool down after you tour the zoo on a hot day. All the animals have enough room and look well taken care of.
Happy Sea Lions and Seals
After a long walk around I went to the garden area using a small jungle shuttle. I took many nice pictures in the waterfall area. This area looks like an ideal location for wedding settings, or a nice family gathering. The garden area also has an indoor area setup just for this.
After my picture taking I took the shuttle back over to the zoo area walked over to the elephants and took more pictures. I also liked their penguin exhibit. If you don’t mind a few snakes, spiders and bats the reptile exhibit area is cool.
In all this zoo seems to get over looked with the other zoo’s in the area. The Atlanta Zoo is about a three hour ride in the other direction and another one in Asheboro, North Carolina. Riverbanks Zoo is what I would consider my local zoo. I support my local business and took a trip to the zoo in Columbia.

Red foxes are really cute. They live all around the world in many different habitats. In some places humans can adopt these amazing creatures. Foxes eat small creatures and can eat fruit.
A fox uses its tail for balance, but it also has other uses. They can use their tails as coats to keep warm in cold weather. They also use them to communicate with other foxes.
Foxes meet in the winter to mate. The female, called a vixen, gives birth to 2 to 12 pups a litter. At birth red fox pups are brown or grey. Both parents look after the young until they are old enough to go out in the world.
