Empty Reality

By Damien Knight

I adore her constant presence
Her words an incense
Her voice an intoxicating song
Why can’t I break free is it wrong?

“Why such a bitter continence,”
She asks with insistence
“It is you? We are not so lonely
If you just say, ‘Stay with me.”

I try, I do I reach for her every time
After all, I am tired of being empty
Would it be wrong to call her love mine?
My Sora, I wish you to stay here with me
